Travel, remembered in paint

For me, nothing inspires creativity like getting lost somewhere new. I’d call myself directionally challenged, but as long as I have a camera and sketchbook, there’s really no such thing as a wrong turn.

Now, as a full-time visual artist, I’m intentionally building the exploration of new (and familiar!) places into my studio practice -- exploring how the landscapes, colors, and small details of a place shift once they become memory.

A note on process

I tend to find inspiration in motion: walking, running, and hiking through a new place with a camera in hand and, sometimes, a sketchbook.

Back in my Denver studio, I surround myself with photographs, sketches, and mementos from the trip. I use them not to recreate a landscape exactly, but to jog my memory—pulling forward the forms, colors, and sensations that remain.

From there, the paintings take on a life of their own: landscapes filtered through memory and abstraction.

Collaborations

I’m interested in partnering with hotels, resorts, and other hospitality and travel partners whose sense of place aligns with my work. Collaborations might include hosted stays, destination-inspired collections, on-site creative work, content, or artist residencies.
