This is from a collection of 6 bold flower (and flower-adjacent) pieces I created in early January, 2026 during kid nap times while eagerly awaiting the end of winter break and the return of school :)
DIMENSIONS
Painted portion is 9 x 9 inches. (The outer edge of paper is 12 x 12 inches, so there is a 1.5-inch white border around the painted part.)
Each piece may have slight measurement imperfections given method of creation.
TITLE
A good palette shan't be wasted
MATERIALS
Acrylic on paper (Strathmore 400 series, acid-free, 246lb. paper)
Acrylic paint overlaid with oil pastel after drying. Not set or cured, to preserve color integrity.
FRAME DETAILS
Aluminum frame, UV-resistant plexiglass. Mat with 10x10" opening (leaves a thin white border between painted surface and mat opening).
DATE
January, 2026
DESCRIPTION
Abstract, intuitive color blocks. Teal, pink, and purple tones.
DISPLAY & CARE RECOMMENDATIONS
Display in frame with glass surface. A 12 x 12 (inch) frame with a mat opening of 10 x 10 (inch) would be perfect. It is recommended to use a mat so that there is space between the uncured oil pastel does not smudge the glass.
